#3. No big partnerships in the England batting
One of the major causes behind England's meagre first innings was the absence of a big partnership.
England began miserably, losing three wickets before 50 runs were scored on the board.
Alastair Cook and Jonny Bairstow batted well and it looked like they would come up with a partnership that could put England back on track.
However, their partnership of 57 runs was broken and after that, there was no decent partnership for England except a 49-run partnership between Cook and Ben Stokes.
The lack of partnerships eventually ended in the hosts' innings being wrapped up for 184.
England will require a lot of better partnerships in their second innings if they are to avoid defeat in this game.
