Chris Woakes was drafted in the England team after the injury to Ben Stokes and he showed that he is an able replacement. He is a much-improved bowler with the red ball and is no rabbit with the bat.

With the white ball, he has already established a good name for himself, and now will be expected to be the leader of the English attack. His bowling average of 34.98 is on the higher side, but looking at his form with the red ball, no will be surprised if this average decreases.

He also provides the balance with the bat and his a handy lower order bat. Many believe that he has the potential to be a genuine all-rounder and in the absence of Ben Stokes, Woakes would ideally want to grab the mantle.
