A legend of the game and one of the finest to have held a cricket bat, Sir Everton Weekes played 48 Tests with 15 centuries and 19 half-centuries, averaging in excess of 58.

All it took the Barbadian was 9 Tests to reach four figures, something which he did in 12 innings – one less than Sir Don. Against India at Mumbai in 1949, the match ended in a thrilling draw, but Weekes got 56 and 48 in the game to eventually become the joint-fastest to 1,000 Test runs.
