Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was admitted to a hospital after suffering a heart attack, according to NDTV. He was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. Kambli was on his way to Bandra when he suffered a heart attack and a lady traffic cop took him to the hospital.
UPDATE: Dr. Narendra Trivedi, director at Lilavati hospital, said, “He is in the intensive care unit and we are monitoring his medical parameters. He is stable and there is nothing to worry about.”
In 2012, he had an angioplasty to fix two blocked arteries.
The 41-year-old former batsman has played more than 100 One Day Internationals for India and has also played 17 test matches for the country. He has amassed almost 10,000 runs in first class cricket and is well known for a 664-run stand with Sachin Tendulkar in an inter-school game – a record that stood for a very long time.
Of late, Kambli has been working in the entertainment business, participating in reality TV shows and is known to lead a celebrity like lifestyle.
