Full list of Chepauk Super Gillies players for TNPL 2024 ft. Baba Aparajith and Narayan Jagadeesan

The eighth edition of the TNPL will start on Friday, July 5. Chepauk Super Gillies will be in action against Lyca Kovai Kings in the first match. The Super Gillies have been a part of the Tamil Nadu Premier League since 2016 and are the most successful team in the history of the tournament.

The Super Gillies have won four out of the seven editions of the TNPL and have reached the final on five occasions. They were the runner-ups in the first-ever edition of the TNPL. In 2022, the Super Gillies and Lyca Kovai Kings were declared the co-winners of the TNPL as the final match was abandoned due to rain.

In 2023, the Super Gillies won three out of seven matches and finished in fifth place. This was the second time the team failed to make the playoffs since 2016.

Narayan Jagadeesan led the side last season; however, this year, they have appointed Baba Aparajith as the captain of the team. He was the leading run-scorer for the team in the last edition of the tournament. Aparajith amassed 283 runs in seven matches in 2023 at an average of 47.16 and a strike rate of 142.92.

Aparajith played for the Nellai Royal Kings in 2022. He holds the record of making the highest individual score in the tournament.

The eighth edition of TNPL will conclude on Sunday, August 4. The final of the tournament is scheduled to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. A total of five cities will host the 32 matches of TNPL this season.

All eight teams are scheduled to play seven matches each. The top four teams after the conclusion of the league phase will qualify for the playoffs.
