Full list of Dindigul Dragons players for TNPL 2024 ft. Ravichandran Ashwin and Varun Chakaravarthy

TNPL 2024, the flagship event from the land of Tamil Nadu, is scheduled to begin on Friday, July 5. The first match of the season will witness defending champions Lyca Kovai Kings take on Chepauk Super Gillies, the most successful team in the tournament’s history. Dindigul Dragons will be in action on Saturday, July 6, against Trichy Grand Cholas.

The Dragons are one of the four teams that have not won the tournament so far. They finished in second position last season and won six out of seven matches. They lost the first qualifier against Lyca Kovai Kings and the second qualifier to Nellai Royal Kings.

Ravichandran Ashwin is back in the TNPL and will lead the side this season. He will replace Arun Karthik, who was the captain last time. Varun Chakaravarthy, who had a great outing in the IPL this year, is also part of the Dragons. Sandeep Warrier, who played for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024, is in the squad. Warrier replaced Mohammed Shami in the Titans. Sandeep won the Player of the Tournament award in 2022. Baba Indrajith, who captained the Dinidgul Dragons last season, has been included in the squad as well.

The eight teams that will be in action in the eighth season of TNPL are: Nellai Royal Kings, Salem Spartans, Siechem Madurai Panthers, Chepauk Super Gillies, Trichy Grand Cholas, Dindigul Dragons, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, and Lyca Kovai Kings.

A total of 32 matches will be played in this edition of the tournament. The last two matches, including the final, will be played at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Each team will face the other seven teams once and the top four will fight it out in the playoffs.
