The Maharaja Trophy T20 2024 is all set to commence on August 15 in Bengaluru. This edition will be played from August 15 to September 1 in Karnataka. It is a great platform for the players to showcase their skills and break into the state side.
The Maharaja Trophy T20 2024 will comprise 30 league matches, followed by two semi-finals and a final. Two games will be played on each day from August 15 to August 29. All games of this edition will be hosted by the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The Hubli Tigers are the defending champions. They beat the Mysore Warriors in the final last year. It was a close-fought contest in which the Tigers emerged victorious by eight runs to lift the trophy. They will be looking to defend their title this year.
The Mysore Warriors were the runners-up last year and will start their Maharaja Trophy T20 2024 campaign on the opening day. They will face the Shivamogga Lions in the evening. Before that clash begins, the opening game will be played between the Bengaluru Blasters and the Gulbarga Mystics.
The Mysore Warriors will be led by Karun Nair. He had a fantastic season with the bat last year and will be hoping to emulate the same in the Maharaja Trophy T20 2024. The Warriors have retained most of their players and are a team to look forward to.
The likes of Karun, SU Karthik, Codanda Ajit Karthik and Manoj Bhandage are the prominent members in the side and will be doing the heavy lifting in the batting department. Krishnappa Gowtham is an experienced all-rounder.
The bowling attack comprises Prasidh Krishna, Jagadeesha Suchith and Vidyadhar Patil. They have been the regular members of the state side and will play a key role for the Warriors in the Maharaja Trophy T20 2024.
Samit Dravid, son of former Indian captain Rahul Dravid, has been picked up by the Mysore Warriors in the auction. Samit is a batting all-rounder and he will be looking to grab any opportunities that come his way.
The Warriors fell short in the final last year. They will be hoping to go one step ahead in this edition. They have a well-balanced squad and can certainly lift the title if they play to their potential.
