Northern Superchargers have been part of The Hundred since its first season. They represent North East England and Yorkshire in the competition. The team has failed to make it to the playoffs in the first three seasons of The Hundred.
For this edition of the tournament, the Superchargers have appointed Harry Brook as the skipper. This season will also witness the return of red-ball skipper Ben Stokes to The Hundred. He last played in the tournament in 2021. He will be available after the conclusion of the ongoing Test series against West Indies.
Andrew Flintoff, the former England all-rounder, will step into his very first head coaching position as he guides the men's team of Northern Superchargers. He was recently a member of England's men's white-ball coaching staff, participating in June's T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and USA.
Flintoff selected West Indies' Nicholas Pooran as one of the new signings for the 2024 campaign, making him the first pick for Superchargers in the draft. Apart from Pooran, Tom Lawes and Graham Clark were the other two players the Superchargers signed in the draft.
Brydon Carse was banned for three months for breaching ECB gambling regulations. Carse placed bets on cricket matches between 2017 and 2019, leading to the ban. He will be unable to play until August 28. He was retained by the Superchargers but won’t be available due to this ban. Carse has been replaced by Jason Roy.
Harry Brook is the leading run-scorer for the Superchargers and will lead the side in this edition of the tournament. He has scored 474 runs in 17 innings at an average of 39.50 and a strike rate of 172.36. Brook is the only batter who has scored a century for the Superchargers in the tournament.
