The Test Match Special commentator and former England cricketer has often complained that T20 cricket is no good and that he doesn’t like it. Well, it’s Geoff Boycott. He doesn’t like many things but he has taken his dislike of T20 cricket to a whole new level by creating his own new form of cricket. He’s called it… VEGETABLE CRICKET
That’s right. This is the latest promising evolution in the world of cricket as Boycott aims for a ‘healthier’ style of play.
The rules are simple:
Exactly the same as a Test match except you use a rhubarb stick as your bat, whilst the ball is a juicy cherry tomato.
Geoff Boycott said this about his new invention: “It’s brilliant, this is the future of cricket. Those idiots these days don’t know what they are doing and this stupid T20 cricket is simply ridiculous. By the time I’ve got to a T20 game, sat down and got my paper out it’s over! Let me show the world, how cricket should be played. There will be no corridor of uncertainty when I’m batting with my rhubarb stick.”
Well it will be exciting to see how this new form of cricket develops and if it becomes popular.
