#3 Lendl Simmons fails to get to fifty again

Simmons has looked in very good touch throughout this Global T20 Canada tournament. He has crossed the 20-run mark in every innings but hasn’t been able to go past the 50-run landmark. His last three innings scores read – 36, 24 and 44.

Despite Warner’s struggles at the top, Simmons has been able to cover it up to some extent as he has more often than not given the Hawks a good start.

Once again in this game, Warner was dismissed early and it was Simmons who stabilized the innings but he once again failed to convert his start.

Walking into open the innings, the Trinidad right-handed opener was very watchful in the powerplay as the pitch was playing all sorts of tricks.

But once he got his eye in, he started playing confidently and played some very good shots. Striking three fours and as many sixes in his 20-ball career. Simmons once again fell [M1] short of the fifty-run mark.
