In the league game against Kolkata Knight Riders played at the DY Patil Stadium in 2022, Lucknow Super Giants were chasing a target of 209 runs. A pretty stiff target on any day in the context of a T20I, Quinton de Kock and LSG skipper KL Rahul reportedly broke records when they partnered for 210 runs and made Lucknow win the game by 10 wickets. Quinton de Kock scored a blazing 140* while Rahul hit a knock of 68 runs. This is the highest partnership for the opening wicket in the IPL.

In the home fixture against Gujarat Lions played in the 2016 season of the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore came out to bat first. After losing their first wicket for 19, captain Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers were out in the middle to take things forward. The famous duo reportedly recorded a 229-run stand for the second wicket where they both notched a century of their own and completely rattled the Gujarat bowling attack. The partnership got broken on the second last ball of the innings when the score read 248-2, which remains an iconic match to date.

Chennai Super Kings locked horns with arch-rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai in 2022. After losing the toss, CSK went out to bat, where the franchise lost two quick wickets with just 36 on the board. Robin Uthappa was joined by Shivam Dube and they gave the spectators a show to remember. They launched a counter-attack against the RCB and reportedly added 165 runs for the third wicket for the team. Dube was the aggressor who remained not out on 95, while Uthappa got out at 88 in the 19th over. This propelled the Super Kings to put up 216 on the board in their 20 overs.

Shimron Hetmyer and Gurkeerat Singh reportedly made the highest fourth wicket partnership of 144 runs while playing against SRH in the 54th matchday of IPL in 2019. They scored individual runs of 75 in 47 balls with a strike rate of 159.57 and 65 in 48 balls with a strike rate of 135.41 respectively. RCB clinched the target of 178 in 19.2 overs and beat SRH by 4 wickets in that match.

KKR faced Gujarat Lions in the 34th matchday of IPL in 2016. KKR's Shakib Al Hasan and Yusuf Pathan reportedly made the highest fifth wicket partnership of 134. Hasan scored individual scores of 66 in 49 balls with a strike rate of 134.69. Pathan played at a strike rate of 153.65 and scored 63 in 41 balls. However, KKR failed to reach the target of 165 and was beaten by the Lions by 5 wickets.

The highest sixth wicket partnership in IPL was reportedly made by Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard while playing for the Mumbai Indians against RCB on the 62nd matchday of the 2012 edition of the competition. Rayudu scored 81 runs out of 54 balls with a strike rate of 150.00 and his partner Pollard scored 52 runs in 31 with a strike rate of 167.74. MI reached the target of 172 and beat RCB by 5 wickets.

Brad Hodge and James Faulkner reportedly scored the highest eigth-wicket partnership of 69 runs against Mumbai Indians in the 44th matchday of IPL 2014. Hodge scored 40 out of 30 with a strike rate of 133.33 and his partner Faulkner had 31 out of 21 and a strike rate of 147.61. Rajasthan Royals was defeated by MI by 25 runs in that match.
