The Indian Premier League is taking shape as players and fans are gearing up for the 16th edition of the extravagant tournament to kick start from 31st March 2023 where 10 franchises will battle it out to engrave their name on the championship gold.

Quinton de Kock & KL Rahul - 210 : 1st wicket
In the league game against Kolkata Knight Riders played at the DY Patil Stadium in 2022, Lucknow Super Giants were chasing a target of 209 runs. A pretty stiff target on any day in context of a T20I, Quinton de Kock and LSG skipper KL Rahul broke records when they partnered for 210 runs and made Lucknow win the game by 10 wickets. Quinton de Kock scored a blazing 140* while Rahul hit a knock of 68 runs. This is the highest partnership for the opening wicket in the IPL.
Virat Kohli & AB de Villiers - 229 : 2nd wicket
In the home fixture against Gujarat Lions played in the 2016 season of the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore came out to bat first. After losing their first wicket for 19, captain Virat Kohli, and Ab de Villiers were out in the middle to take things forward and boy did they take them too far. The famous duo jotted a 229- run stand for the second wicket where they both notched brilliant centuries and completely rattled the Gujarat bowling attack. The partnership got broken on the second last ball of the innings when the score read 248-2, which still remains an iconic match till date.
Robin Uthappa & Shivam Dube - 165 : 3rd wicket
In the previous season of the IPL, Chennai Super Kings locked horns with arch rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. After losing the toss, CSK went out to bat, the franchise lost two quick wickets with just 36 on the board. Robin Uthappa was joined by Shivam Dube and they gave the spectators a show to remember. They launched a counter-attack against the RCB and added 165 runs for the 3rd wicket where Dube was the aggressor who remained not out on 95. While Uthappagot out for an astonishing 88 in the 19th over. This propelled the Super Kings to put up 216 on the board in their 20 overs.
