It is said that Test cricket is the oldest form of the game and it is the true test of a batsman’s skill and talent. There are a few batsmen who have gone on to dominate the game and become legends while others have failed to make a mark in the format.
Test cricket is losing its popularity as many playing are opting to play only white ball cricket. However, there is nothing better than seeing a batsman battle it out all day long to score big hundreds.

The innings played by Brian Charles Lara, who became the first man to score 400 runs in an innings will always be remembered. He toiled the bowlers for over three days and survived a few scares to get to the milestone. It was probably the greatest innings of all time.
Karun Nair is the most recent entrant into the list. His unbeaten 303 against England in December 2016 was a treat to watch. He hammered the opposition to all parts of the ground as India dominated the game.
Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara were the two legends for Sri Lankan cricket. It is evident from the above table that they had a knack of playing big innings. Jayawardene had scores of 374 and 275 while Sangakkara had made 319 and 287.
