Anukul Roy’s performance in the Under 19 World Cup was very impressive as he ended the tournament as the 'joint highest wicket-taker'. He troubled the batsmen with his left arm orthodox bowling. He picked up 14 wickets at an average of 9.07 with an economy rate of 3.84. In the finals of the World Cup, he picked up the important wickets of Jonathan Merlo on 76 and Param Uppal on 34. His tight bowling helped India restrict the Aussies to a total of 216 which led to their 8 wicket win.
Following his success in the Under 19 World Cup, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians for Rs.20 Lacs.
After his impressive performance in the Under 19 World Cup, he continued with his heroics for Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018. He picked up 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.21. He guided Jharkhand into the semi-finals with his figures of 4 for 32 against Maharashtra.
