Even as former Indian speedster S. Sreesanth claims he has done no wrong, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has bowled a beamer by slapping a life ban on the temperamental cricketer.

“You wait and see, the BCCI will soon cut a sorry figure because all what they did was to take out the Delhi police case version, as they ( BCCI) have a ‘zero tolerance policy’,” former Kerala Cricket Association secretary K. Ajith Kumar told the media here, after learning of the life ban imposed by the BCCI on Sreesanth.

The BCCI’s disciplinary committee Friday came down heavily on the tainted cricketers, slapping life bans on Sreesanth and his Rajasthan Royals teammate Ankeet Chavan for spot fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“I have done no wrong,” was Sreesanth’s comment to the TV channels here.

On May 16, the Delhi police took him into custody from Mumbai for his alleged

spo- fixing in IPL matches featuring his team Rajasthan Royals. He was released on bail June 11 from the Tihar Jail in Delhi and passion was running so high when he returned to his home town-Kochi the very next day, his fans and followers gave him a tumultuous arrival.

“This is a cruel act by the BCCI. The trial has just begun and Sreesanth did attend the court and what was the hurry for them to do this. They could have waited for the verdict. Just imagine what would happen if Sreesanth is exonerated by the court, who would repay his loss as he is a professional,” asked former international umpire K.N. Raghavan.
