In both the games he’s played, the Mumbai batsman has shown glimpses of his willingness to stick it out in the middle and play the shots when required. The way he’s been playing, it seems that he’s on a mission to cement his place in the national team, and enjoy his game at the same time. If he can shake off the bugbear of inconsistency which has been plaguing him for long, Rohit could well be the perfect replacement for Virender Sehwag, if the latter decides to hang up his boots.
