Loaded with talent, Mendis needs some runs to back up his immense potential

Touted as the most talented of Sri Lanka's young batsmen, Kusal Mendis has failed to live upto that reputation in the past few months. He was worked over by the South Africans in the ODI series in January and has since looked restless and unstable at the crease.

However, there is no questioning his talent which he revealed to one and all with brilliant knocks against the Aussies at home. If Mendis needs to show that he belongs in the team, there is no better way than doing it against India. He loves the ball coming onto the bat and the true bounce at Oval should aid his style of batting.
