The ninth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy is set to begin on February 19, 2025, to March 09, 2025. Set in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, the eight-team tournament will see teams divided into two groups of four teams each.

Defending champions Pakistan, and two-time winners India will join New Zealand and Bangladesh in Group A. Group B consists of two-time champions Australia, the 2004 and 2013 runners-up England, inaugural champions South Africa, and a debuting Afghanistan team.

The league stage spans from February 19 to March 2. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage. The semi-finals will take place on March 4 and March 5 in Dubai and Lahore, respectively. The summit clash will take place on March 9, 2025.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-man squad of the Indian Men’s Cricket Team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Batsman

The batting unit of the Indian Cricket Team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer.

Wicketkeeper(s)

KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have been picked as wicket-keeping options for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, Rahul has been India’s specialist keeper-batter in this format since 2023.

All-Rounders

Hardik Pandya is the lone seam-bowling all-rounder in the set-up. Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel have been named as the spin-bowling all-rounders.

Bowlers

Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav and right-arm mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy will lead the spin-bowling department. Mohammed Shami has returned to the team after a prolonged injury-related hiatus.

Given that the legendary pacer Jasprit Bumrah is unavailable due to his lower back injury, the selection committee has named Harshit Rana as his replacement, as of February 12, 2025. Left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh has also found a place in the squad.

India has named Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, and Shivam Dube as the non-traveling substitutes.

The two-time ICC Champions Trophy winners will be led by veteran opening batter Rohit Sharma in the upcoming edition of the tournament. Rohit has been India’s ODI captain since December 2021 and previously led the Men in Blue to the finals of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

Former Indian opening batter Gautam Gambhir will be the head coach of the Men in Blue in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Gambhir assumed the head coach position after the ICC Men’s T20 World 2024 last summer.

India’s coaching staff is led by the Head Coach Gautam Gambhir. He will be assisted by Ryan ten Doeschate and Abhishek Nayar. Sitanshu Kotak will contribute as the batting coach while Morne Morkel will oversee the bowling department. T Dilip is responsible for the fielding department.
