#1 South Africa

The Proteas have always been known to score heaps of runs and they've been no different at the World Cup. South Africa are the only team in history to breach the 400-run mark twice at the World Cup.
Interestingly, both instances came in the 2015 ICC World Cup when the Proteas reached the semi-finals, where they were knocked out by the eventual runners-up, New Zealand.
South Africa's first 400+ total came against the West Indies, who they met in the group stage. The Caribbeans met with a hurricane in the name of AB de Villiers, who played one of the greatest World Cup knocks of all time by scoring 162 runs in just 66 balls. De Villiers scored the fastest century in the history of World Cup and unfortunately for the West Indies, they were the recipients to it. South Africa recorded a total of 408-5 and won the match by 257 runs.
South Africa went on to better their number later in the tournament and put on a humongous total of 411/4 on board, with Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis scoring 100s for the Proteas against Ireland. South Africa won the match by 201 runs.
