Craig Kieswetter of England hit a wonderful 63 as England were anointed the new ICC World Twenty20 champions after thrashing Australia by seven wickets in the finals to win their first ICC title on Sunday.
Kieswetter made the much feared Australian bowling look like pedestrian with an awesome 49-ball innings which was adorned with seven fours and two sixes as England gunned down 148 with three overs left in the final at the Kensington Oval in the Carribean.
He was ably supported by Kevin Pietersen who made a terrific 31-ball 47 which was adorned with 4 boundaries and a six.
The pair brought the hitherto mighty Aussies down by crafting 111 runs from merely 68 balls for the second wicket to set up an easy win for England.
Earlier, England produced some terrific and controlled bowling to restrict Australia to 147 for the loss of 6 wickets, made possible chiefly due to David Hussey‘s 59 in 54 balls, after England captain Paul Collingwood inserted Australia in on winning the toss.
