Suzie Bates led New Zealand in a superb way until their journey was cut short by India in a must-win clash. She lit up the World Cup with a scintillating century in the very first match against Sri Lanka.

Bates amassed 242 runs with the bat and picked up a solitary wicket in the six matches that she played in the whole campaign. She led her team to victories against Sri Lanka, Windies and Pakistan.

However, her team failed massively when they were up against giants like England, Australia and India. Their match against South Africa was unfortunately washed out. The results could have been different otherwise. But then, you have to prove yourself in what you get.
