Dinesh Mongia, the Indian ODI specialist of early and mid-2000s, wore number 28 in his seven-year-long career. The southpaw scored 1230 runs in 58 ODIs for India while also chipped in with 14 wickets with his part-time bowling.

The power-hitting sensation, Yusuf Pathan has also played a fair amount of cricket for India in ODI and T20 cricket. The right-handed batsman, however, has also been out of national scenes for a long time. He too wears number 28 jersey.
