India A off to a flyer after Shikhar Dhawan's unbeaten century

Bangladesh 'A' team misery continues as dashing Shikhar Dhawan smashed a 97-ball century to put Indian into a commanding position on the Day 1 of the one-off 3-day match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

After winning the toss, Indian captain Dhawan decided to bowl first on the flat wicket of Bengaluru and his bowlers didn't disappoint him. Bangladesh were four down after scoring just 6 runs.

Varun Aaron's triple and Ishwar Pandey's one put Bangladesh into a deep trouble. The top order consisting of international players like Soumya Sarkar and Mominul Haque failed to show resistance.

Sabbir Rahman and Nasir Hossain started finally jolted some runs for the visitors to take the scoreboard to 50 runs. But soon, Hossain departed off Abhinav Mithun's full delivery which clicked his bat and went into the safe hands of keeper Naman Ojha.

A 132-run stand for the sixth wicket between Rahman and Hom was the highlight of Bangladesh's innings as they has brought they team back into this game. From 50 for 5, they took to 157/5.

Rahman led the Bangladesh 'A' innings with his unbeaten century (122*) and contribution down the order by Shuvagata Hom (62), took the final tally to respectable 228 runs.

Aaron gave the start India 'A' needed and Jayant Yadav finished how it was needed. Both the bowlers picked four wickets each as six batsmen in the visitors' innings got out for duck.

Dhawan came back after injury and what a return it was as he went after every ball to score runs. He showed no mercy on junior Bangladesh's side as he went on to score 116 runs not out off just 112 deliveries.

India ended the day at 161 for the loss off one opener Abhinav Mukund's wicket. The home team were trailing by 67 runs with 9 wickets in hands.
