Up 1-0 in the series, India came into the Test match at Gros Islet, hoping to double the advantage. Opting to bat first, they were rescued by a lower-order stand of 213 runs between Wriddhiman Saha and R Ashwin, which took them to 353 runs in their first innings.
Then Bhuvneshwar Kumar turned it on with the ball with a five-wicket haul that derailed the hosts to 225 all out. In their second innings, India posted 217 for 7 declared and set 346 runs in the final innings, the West Indies were bowled out for 108, to give India a massive-237 run win.
