Sunil Joshi was one of India’s most effective left-arm bowlers in the limited overs format. Joshi bowled with great control and accuracy. He was miserly at giving away runs and often produced some economical spells for India.

Joshi was effectively used as a pinch hitter, courtesy of his ability to step up the scoring rate with some clinical hitting. A cricketer with a sharp acumen, he knew his limitations well and bowled to his strengths in ODIs.
