Dinesh Karthik could never be a prominent figure in the Indian team due to the omnipresence of MS Dhoni. However, Karthik has never given up and always been in and out of the team. The 33-year-old is currently a part of India's ODI team on tour down under. He scored an unbeaten 25 of paramount importance in the previous match against the Aussies on 15 January 2019.

The Chennai-born player has scored 1025 runs in 26 Tests he has played for the nation. DK made the most of the limited opportunities he got and played some handy knocks in the limited overs format. The Right-handed batsman has scored 1700 runs at an average of 30.91 in 88 ODIs played for the Men in Blue.

The quintessential player has also been an integral figure in the IPL and amassed 3401 runs in 168 matches. The prolific Karthik is also currently the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders and will look to lead them to another title in 2019.
