Navjot Singh Siddhu's comeback to the Indian team in the 1987 World Cup was a great one and was good for both himself and the team. Known for his big shots and sixes, Siddhu wasn't able to get going in that match. He was dismissed for 0 in the 1st Innings but made up for it in the 2nd innings where he scored 85 runs off 155 balls. He scored a total of 3202 runs in 51 Test matches averaging 42.13 and in ODIs, he scored 4413 runs in 136 matches averaging 37.08.

Post retirement, he became a TV commentator for many sports channels and also was a judge or guest for many TV shows like the Kapil Sharma Show and Comedy Nights with Kapil. He also contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2004 for the BJP and won the seat but resigned due to a court case filed on him. He later joined the Congress in 2017 winning in Amritsar and is currently the Tourism Minister of the Govt. of Punjab.
