Just like the openers, the middle order was also under fire after the second Test. Kohli was in fabulous form, but Rahane and Pujara looked completely out of sorts. However, both the experienced players played responsible knocks at Trent Bridge. In the first innings, after a mini-collapse, Kohli and Rahane stitched a crucial partnership, while in the second innings, Kohli and Pujara frustrated the English bowlers and took the game away from them.
Meanwhile, Kohli extended his splendid run in the series. Kohli has looked in supreme touch and has proved to be England's nemesis on this tour. The Indian middle order looks well settled and Kohli certainly won't tinker with the batting line-up now.
