Middle-order: Shubman Gill, Ambati Rayudu, and Dinesh Karthik

Shubman Gill has a great chance to make his debut if MS Dhoni fails to recover in time for the fourth ODI. Gill has had a remarkable 2018 and made giants strides as a batsman. The 19-year-old played a huge role in India's Under-19 World Cup success last year and has scored heavily in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season.
After being dropped for the third ODI against Australia, Ambati Rayudu has played a couple of important innings in the series against New Zealand. He has scored 100 runs in the series and was dismissed only once. India will continue to play Rayudu at No.4 to get him ready for the World Cup.
Dinesh Karthik was dropped for the first two games of the series but came back into the side for the third ODI. He played a crucial knock (38*) and is expected to retain his place for the next game. Karthik has impressed a lot with his limited opportunities and continued to perform whenever he was called upon.
