Mohammad Shami made a comeback to the ODI team after a year, thanks to his heroics in the longest format of the game. In his quota of 10 overs, he conceded 81 runs and picked up 2 wickets. However, the skipper Kohli would give him another chance as he is in the contention for the World Cup. This is the perfect chance for Shami to cement his place in the ODI team for the next year World Cup.

Along with Shami, Umesh Yadav also made an ODI comeback after a few years. After picking up 10 wickets in the Test match against Windies, he was included in the ODI squad for the five-match series against the same opposition. However, he failed to pick a wicket in the first ODI and the team management would want to give him another opportunity before finalizing the list of fast bowlers for the World Cup.
