Although Axar Patel exceeded all expectations to scalp 27 wickets in his debut series and Washington Sundar has been impeccable with the bat, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin should be the all-rounders in India's lineup for the World Test Championship final.
The conditions in England may not necessitate two spinners, but both Jadeja and Ashwin have been in superb form with bat and ball. They add depth to the lower order while being potent weapons for the later stages of Test matches, and India will bank on them to be match-winners as usual.
Bowlers: Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami
![Jasprit Bumrah has an excellent record outside India](https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/11/c9bdf-15727091450652-800.jpg?w=190 190w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/11/c9bdf-15727091450652-800.jpg?w=720 720w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/11/c9bdf-15727091450652-800.jpg?w=640 640w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/11/c9bdf-15727091450652-800.jpg?w=1045 1045w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/11/c9bdf-15727091450652-800.jpg?w=1200 1200w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/11/c9bdf-15727091450652-800.jpg?w=1460 1460w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/11/c9bdf-15727091450652-800.jpg?w=1600 1600w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/11/c9bdf-15727091450652-800.jpg 1920w)
The pace department is where India are truly spoilt for choice. Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami might be the three to get the nod, meaning Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav miss out.
Bumrah, Ishant and Shami have been absolutely spectacular for India in the longest format of the game. Although Siraj has made a lasting impression since his Test debut in the Australia series and Umesh is one of the country's best exponents of reverse swing, none of the trio can be dropped.
Bumrah, Ishant and Shami will have to outbowl the Kiwi pace quartet of Neil Wagner, Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee and Trent Boult.
India's strongest playing XI for the final of the World Test Championship: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah
