#2 Maiden 50 for MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni was at his belligerent best

Before this match, there were clarion calls made to promote MS Dhoni up the batting order and the Indian team management decided to push the former captain at number 4 and this immediately yielded dividends for the hosts.

Dhoni started off with caution but then quickly got into his stride and forged a superb partnership first with Suresh Raina and then with Yuvraj Singh. He took to the spinners and also smashed the seam bowlers to all parts of the ground. However, it was not all power and brute hitting, as he combined it with a lot of deft dabs and quick running.

In the process, he got his maiden 50 in T20I in his 76^th match for India and his innings was the chief reason why India breached the 200 run mark.
