Unlike in Manchester, Roy failed to get going in Cardiff after the taking 14 runs off the first over from Umesh Yadav.

Jos Buttler- 2/10

The right-hander did not have the best of times with the bat, making a mere 14 runs before becoming Yadav's second victim of the day.

Joe Root- 1/10

The right-hander was promoted to number three but struggled to get going again, scoring just 9 before getting bowled by a Chahal googly.

Alex Hales- 8.5/10

The right-hander played the innings that mattered for the hosts, making an unbeaten 53 to take England home and level the series at 1-1.

Eoin Morgan- 3.5/10

The skipper may have made just 17 runs, but his stand with Hales proved to be decisive as it helped his side recover after a poor start.

Jonny Bairstow- 5/10

Hales may have played the match-winning innings, but Jonny Bairstow's 28 proved to be the match-clinching knock as he took all the pressure off his partner and ensured India did not find a way back into the game.

David Willey-5/10

The left-arm seamer had a good outing with the ball, picking up figures of 1 for 18 in his 4 overs.

Liam Plunkett- 5/10

After a poor outing at Old Trafford, Plunkett put in a much better performance with the ball in the second game, going for 17 runs in his 4 overs and picking up 1 wicket to go with it.

Adil Rashid- 3/10

The leg-spinner did not prove to be too effective with the ball, going for 29 runs in his 4 overs.

Chris Jordan- 2/10

Jordan was the second most expensive bowler for England on the day, going for 34 runs in his 4 overs.

Jake Ball- 2/10

The poorest bowler on display for the hosts. Ball went for 44 runs in his four overs, including a 22-run final over.
