Tim Seifert – 9/10
Tim Seifert was absolutely brilliant while opening the innings for the Blackcaps. He scored 84 off just 43 balls to help NZ reach a huge total. He set up the perfect platform for the finishers in the second half of the innings.
Colin Munro – 7/10
Colin Munro supported Seifert really well. He chipped in with a 34 off just 20 balls which helped NZ put up a 86 run opening stand. He would have loved to carry on but got out while trying to up the ante.
Kane Williamson – 7/10
The NZ skipper to contributed with a useful score of 34 off 22 balls. He took his time initially but later looked to take on the bowlers. He could have scored more but that's the nature of the shortest format.
Ross Taylor – 7/10
Ross Taylor played a good cameo towards the end where he took on the bowlers from the word go. He scored 23 off 14 balls and gave NZ the perfect push towards the end.
Daryll Mitchell – 6/10
Daryll Mitchell on debut didn't impress much with the bat but was good with the ball. He bowled two overs for just ten runs and played an important role in building pressure and increasing the asking rate.
Colin De Grandhomme – 4/10
De Grandhomme didn't have much to do in this game. He came into bat in the last stages of their innings but couldn't get going as he got out for three. He didn't bowl a single over in the match.
Mitchell Santner – 8/10
Santner was the first one to pick two wickets in an over and derail India's chase. He picked up the wickets of Pant and Shankar in the same over which put India in trouble. He was excellent with his lengths and change of speed.
Scott Kuggeleijn – 5/10
Kuggeleijn played an excellent cameo towards the end when he scored 20 runs off just seven balls. He wasn't impressed with the ball as he gave away 34 runs in his two overs.
Ish Sodhi – 7/10
Ish Sodhi followed Santner as he too picked up two wickets in an over. Sodhi picked up the wickets of Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya in his first over and just ended any chance of India winning the match.
Tim Southee – 9/10
Southee set the tone for all the Kiwi bowlers as he gave away just two runs in his first two overs and even picked up the wicket of the dangerous Rohit Sharma. He came back to pick the wicket of Krunal Pandya and MS Dhoni.
Lockie Ferguson – 8/10
Lockie Ferguson was good with the ball as he picked up two wickets for just 22 runs. He picked up the important wicket of Shikhar Dhawan with a 150.8 kmph yorker. He too came back to pick the wicket off Bhuvneshwar Kumar in his last over.
