Yet again, India was meeting Pakistan in a Champions Trophy group stage match at the same venue. The result too was similar as India defeated Pakistan by 124 runs.
Having won the toss, Pakistan captain, Misbah-ul-Haq decided to bowl first.
Indian openers started briskly as they ripped apart Pakistan's bowling with their opening partnership of 136 runs in 24.3 overs. Kohli and Yuvraj carried from where the openers left as they took India's total to a superb 319 in 48 overs.
For India, Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with his fantastic knock of 91 in 119 balls.
Pakistan started the chase positively as their openers managed 47 runs in 9 overs. However, as soon as the first wicket fell, Pakistan kept losing wickets regularly, and in the end, they were rolled-out for 164 in 33.4 overs.
Azar Ali was the top scorer for Pakistan as he scored 50 runs in 65 balls.
For India, Umesh Yadav was the best bowler with his spell of 3-30 in 7.4 overs.
