Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the epitome of stand and deliver at Dharamshala today. With the experience of having played 300-plus ODIs, Dhoni came to India's rescue when they were reeling at 16/4.

The Dhoni legend rolled along, right from the outset, as he managed to take India's score past 100 with his valiant effort of 65 runs off 87 deliveries.

At a time when the hosts were reduced to 29/7, it seemed that the score would not even go past 50 but Dhoni managed to break Lakmal's rhythm and ended up getting his 67th ODI half-century.

With some help from the tailenders, the former skipper took India past their lowest ODI score of 54 and ended up putting 112 on the board in 38.2 overs.

Despite his Herculean effort, Dhoni ended up on the losing side but his innings of 65 will be remembered as one of the best from India's 'crisis man'.
