Kusal Perera fired 77 off 37 balls and provided a glimmer of hope to an otherwise non-spirited Sri Lankan team, that was outplayed in all the departments of the game at Indore.

Kusal, who walked out to bat after Niroshan Dickwella's fall, stitched a 109-run second wicket partnership with Upul Tharanga and for a while made it seem like India's colossal target might be chased down on a belter of a wicket at the Holkar Stadium.

However, Kusal explosive knock, that consisted of four fours and seven sixes, went in vain as no other Sri Lankan batsman could show resistance and managed just 172 in 17.2 overs, losing the match by 88 runs.
