Profile and recent form
Vusi Sibanda is a contemporary of Hamilton Masakadza, Tatenda Taibu and Stuart Matsikenyeri. He scored an impressive 58 on debut against the West Indies but his selection in the national team came too early.
He survived in the team due to the national crisis despite failing to live up to his potential. Though the right-hander is a superb timer of the ball off both the back and front foot, he was lazy on learning the abilities to build a big innings. His selections in the team were due almost entirely due to his potential rather than actual performance.
He has a very efficient technique but it’s the poor shot selection that has often brought his downfall.
The 32-year old suffered an injury to his right ankle during the warm-ups and is currently making a comeback into the team.
