The South Africa Women are touring India for a limited-overs series. It comprises a three-match ODI series in Bengaluru and one-off Test in Chennai followed by a three-match T20I series. It will come to an end on July 9.

The one-off Test between India Women and South Africa Women will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from June 28 to July 1. India Women have been dominant in the recently concluded ODI series and will be high in confidence heading into the Test series.

The ODI series was played in Bengaluru and a strong all-round display saw the Women in Blue whitewash the South Africa Women. The Proteas Women were completely outplayed and will be eager for a turnaround in fortunes in the Test in Chennai.

Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the India Women. They had success in the longest format when they beat Australia Women and England Women at home. They also have the winning momentum behind them and will be looking to carry it forward into the one-off Test.

South Africa Women, on the other hand, will be led by Laura Wolvaardt. Their last assignment in the longest format came back in February when they faced Australia Women Down Under. They suffered a heavy defeat by an innings and 284 runs and will certainly be looking to put up an improved performance in Chennai.

The home conditions will favor the India Women. But having said that, the South African side also has plenty of experienced players and can challenge the hosts if they play to their potential.
