The Indian cricket team has now been allowed to travel in business class on flights, even on shorter tours. The BCCI has changed its stance on this issue and now the tickets are not booked in economy class.
BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said, “Players now can fly on business class as far as possible. One should not forget that whatever BCCI has achieved is because of its players.”
Another change that has been implemented is that the team has now been allowed to travel overseas in casuals. The traditional blazers have now been ditched. The team is currently in England, where they have arrived for a five Test series. It is understood that the players informed the BCCI that they will be carrying their team blazers along and will wear them for the formal dinner with the High Commission of India.
He added, “The BCCI has accepted the players’ request for avoiding blazers on long flights and instead allowing them to wear casuals. It does get very uncomfortable to wear formals, especially when they have to travel for more than 5-6 hours. So we have accepted their request. The players can wear their blazers for official functions or dinners later during the tour.”
