Kris Srikkanth comes at No.4 in the list of Indian openers opening for India in most matches. Batting in 146 matches as an opener, he scored 4091 ODI runs at an average of just 29.01 and a strike rate of 71.74.
It would be fair enough to call him as the least successful India opener, among those who have played more than 80 ODIs as an opener for India. He scored just four centuries and 27 half-centuries in his ODI career that also consisted of 11 ducks.
Although Srikkanth could dominate even the most fearsome bowlers at his best, his tendency to get out on ordinary deliveries made him look highly inconsistent.
