The left arm pacer was a core member of the Karnataka team that won the historic treble of the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy in two consecutive seasons. He also had an impressive IPL season that earned him an entry into the national T20 squad.

He featured in the T20I game against South Africa that took place in Dharamsala on October 2, 2015. In what was a high scoring encounter, Aravind bowled 3.4 overs and went for 44 runs while he could take just one wicket, that of opposition captain Faf du Plessis. India lost the match by 7 wickets.
