Indian men’s cricket team 2025 schedule: List of Tests, ODIs and T20Is Team India will play in 2025

2024 was a mixed year for Indian men's cricket. They began the year with a famous seven-wicket win in the Cape Town Test against South Africa. Team India then cruised to a 3-0 T20I series win at home against Afghanistan. They went on to thump England 4-1 in a five-match Test series at home played as part of the 2023-25 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

The high point of Indian men's cricket in 2024 was undoubtedly winning the T20 World Cup held in the West Indies and the United States. The Men in Blue were unbeaten right through the magnificent campaign, registering victories over Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Like 2022, Team India came up against England in the semifinal. This time, though, they registered a comprehensive 68-run victory in Guyana. The Men in Blue also held their nerves in an extremely tense final against South Africa in Barbados to clinch their first ICC title after a gap of 11 years. Defending a total of 176, they held the Proteas to 169-8.

The second half of 2024, however, was a disastrous one for Team India. They suffered an ODI series loss to Sri Lanka for the first time in 27 years. Things got worse as they suffered their first 3-0 whitewash at home in a Test series against New Zealand. The year ended with Rohit Sharma and co. losing Test matches in Adelaide and Melbourne during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).

Team India schedule 2025: Dates, venues, IST timings

The Indian men's cricket team will kick off 2025 with the fifth and final Test of the series against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Friday, January 3. They will be keen to begin the year on a positive note. A win at the SCG will see the visitors retain BGT (2014-15 was the last time Australia held the Border-Gavaskar Trophy) and also keep their WTC final hopes alive.

The Men in Blue will then host England for five T20Is and three ODIs, which will be followed by their participation in the ICC Champions Trophy. India will play all their matches in Dubai. The Indian players will then feature in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which will be held from March 14 to May 25. India will also tour England for five Tests between June and August.
