Tom Moody was the head coach of Kings XI Punjab for 3 seasons from 2008 -2010. Under him, Punjab reached the top 4 stage in the inaugural edition of IPL. But he could not recreate his success in the later editions of IPL in 2009 and 2010 and parted ways with the club.
When Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise was formed in 2013, Moody was designated to be the head coach and has continued with that profile ever since. He had led Sunrisers to the champions’ title once in 2016 and to the playoffs stage thrice in 2013, 2017 and 2018. SRH was the runners-up in IPL 2018 season.
His winning percentage of 53.28 sees him coming into our list as the 8th best coach in the IPL history.
