Right, so the preparations for the 2019 World Cup for the Indian team could well enter its final lap when the team tours England in July. While several places in the side are already taken, there will always be room for other players to put up their hands and get noticed ahead of the marquee tournament.
Indian cricket is currently in a very exciting phase with plenty of bowling options and here in this slider we take a look at five bowlers who might take care of the attack come the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Hardik Pandya
The flamboyant all-rounder will definitely be a part of Virat Kohli's plans as he renders balance to the Indian team both with the bat and then with the ball.
Over the last six to seven months, Hardik has improved a lot as a bowler and this augurs for the well for the Indian team as in England there will be instances when the going gets flat and you need someone who has the penchant to make things happen.
Pandya has pace and he has the knack of picking up wickets which is just what is needed in the middle overs.
Kuldeep Yadav
India is blessed to have Kuldeep Yadav in their arsenal as he is a rare commodity in International cricket at the moment.
The young chinaman bowler has been brilliant with the ball for India with the red ball and even in the ongoing IPL has given enough indication of his pedigree.
His biggest strength is his wicket-taking attitude which suits Kohli perfectly as on flaccid surfaces in England, he can get the ball to turn both ways and prize out wickets.
Yuzvendra Chahal
Another leggie who compliments Kuldeep brilliantly, Yuzvendra Chahal has the trust of Virat Kohli and he has done nothing wrong in the opportunities he has got so far in his short International career.
He relies more on accuracy and changes in pace and length as opposed to Kuldeep's guile and is a street-smart cricketer with the ability to gauge what the batsmen are up to.
Also, he is a slick fielder which only adds more arrows to his quiver in the World Cup.
Jasprit Bumrah
We now take a look at the seamers and Jasprit Bumrah walks into the team almost spontaneously walks into the team.
He has been one of the most improved bowlers over the last 15 months and with his wicket-taking abilities both with the new and old ball.
Also, he has added control to his repertoire which makes him one of the most difficult bowlers to get after in limited overs cricket. He will be Kohli's X-factor in the World Cup.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Perhaps the most complete Indian bowler across all conditions and format, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead this bowling attack in England and the onus will be on him to pick up wickets both with the new ball when it will swing and shape and then later in the death overs, as he now has the ability to nail his yorkers and get wickets towards the end.
Also, he can be relied upon with the bat which is only an added advantage for the team. A certain pick in the team, Bhuvneshwar's performance with the ball might well translate into India's performance at the World Cup.
(Depending on the team selection, Suresh Raina or Kedar Jadhav can also be used as the sixth bowling option)
