Kolkata, Oct 3 (IANS) India opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the third and final Test against New Zealand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) media manager said here on Monday.
The third Test starts from Saturday in Indore. India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Dhawan, who picked up a knock on his left thumb from a Trent Boult delivery in the third over of India's second innings on Sunday, has suffered a fracture and is advised at least 15 days' rest.
India won the second Test at the Eden Gardens by 178 runs to claim the top sport in the Test rankings.
