#2 Michael Clarke (Pune Warriors India- 2012)

Australian cricketers have often restrained themselves from playing in the IPL due to national commitments. Moreover, players who were injury prone and played for Australia in all formats were extra cautious when it came to playing in T20 leagues. Michael Clarke was a crucial player for the Kangaroos in his playing days and thus kept himself away from the IPL limelight to concentrate on his international career.
However, he did play in the IPL in one season. The then Australian skipper played for IPL side Pune Warriors India in 2012. In the 6 IPL games he played for the Warriors, Clarke scored 98 runs at an average of 16.33.
In a bid to extend his international career, Clarke never returned back to play in the league. However, he did return to the league as a commentator after his retirement.
