Kevin Pietersen has been ruled out of Delhi Daredevils’s opening encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The 33-year-old suffered a finger injury recently and his absence might prove a big loss for the Daredevils who will try to turn their fortunates around after lacklustre performances over the last few seasons.
Pietersen was bought by Delhi Daredevils after they used their “right to match” over Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 9 cr at the IPL auction earlier this year.
In the absence of the former English batsman, deputy Dinesh Karthik will lead the Delhi-based franchise on Thursday.
