Shaun Marsh
After a sedate start in his first two IPL matches of the season, Shaun Marsh was just picking up form for Kings XI Punjab as he scored a fifty and two forties in the games preceding what turned out to be his last game of this year's IPL.
Although Marsh has only played 62 matches in eight years of the IPL, he has an incredible record in the tournament. He is one of the very few to average over 40 in the history of the tournament and he has scored over 2,000 runs at a strike rate in excess of 130.
While he was batting in his preferred position as opener, the 32-year-old was just starting to shine in his new role before he picked up a back injury ruled him out of the tournament just a day after his brother was ruled out of Pune's campaign.
