Marsh’s unfortunate injury robbed him of an opportunity to shine in the IPL

After the 2016 IPL Auction, many thought that the Australian all-rounder would form the bedrock of the RPSG middle-order. Unfortunately for Mitchell Marsh, that didn't turn out to be the case at the start of the tournament thanks to a variety of reasons.

But just when it looked as though the 24-year-old was finding a bit of form and a spot was opening up in the XI thanks to the injuries to the top-order batsmen, Marsh became the latest casualty for his side.

A side strain meant that he became the third Rising Pune Supergiants player to be ruled out in the same week, after playing just three games and picking up four wickets in those games.
