Irfan Pathan
Despite being in sublime form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Irfan Pathan wasn't selected in India's World T20 team. What was even more surprising was the fact that despite being in fantastic form, he was almost unsold and ended up being picked up at his base price by Pune. Although 1 crore might not seem like a bargain, given the strength and depth that he provides with both bat and ball, he most certainly is.
Capable of swinging the new ball and also bowling crucial yorkers at the death overs, Pathan's performances almost warrant a place in the side for his bowling alone. And that isn't even mentioning his batting, which is more than handy and at No.7 provides the perfect transition and final flourish to the innings.
